The NHP Foundation was established in 2009 to honour our commitment to the Notting Hill community by providing means-tested bursaries to local children.
We are a registered charity, working closely with, but independently of, the school. Each year, the Foundation offers a minimum of two fully funded places to children joining into Year 7 from the state sector. Additionally, we offer a Jane Cameron Bursary, established to honour the founding Head on her retirement, and awarded to a child, starting in Year 4, who shows outstanding promise in the creative arts.
Our bursaries are academically selective and means-tested. They cover not only fees, but educational trips, enrichment, activities and incidentals. Bursary students are completely integrated members in the rich life of our school.
NHP parents donate via occasional fundraising initiatives and an optional termly add-on to the fees. Thanks to their ongoing generosity, 53 free places have been awarded to date.
Leavers have gone on to attain scholarships and fully funded places at senior schools such as Charterhouse, Rugby, Dulwich College, Godolphin and Latymer, Wycombe Abbey, St. Edward’s, Latymer Upper, Westminster, City of London and The Harrodian. Witnessing these pupils’ success as they have consistently made the most of their time here is a privilege for our entire community.
How can you help?
By making a gift to bursaries, you are doing something truly special. Thank you.
Our ambition is to continue to grow our bursary programme so that even more children can benefit from the life-changing opportunities of an NHP education. We can only achieve this with the generous support of our whole community and everyone who believes that all young people should have access to an education that will shape their future, regardless of financial circumstance or background.
“You want to instil a passion for learning in your pupils, and being able to do that for children who might not ordinarily have been able to afford an education at NHP is one of the most special things about being a Head.”
Mrs Sarah Knollys
Headmistress of NHP
“I don't think there is enough praise I could give to the school and the bursary programme. It really, really has changed my life.”
